YWAF is a registered charity which was launched in September 2003. YWAF's origins go back over 14 years when Shepton Housing Association Limited (SHAL), was formed by a group of Christian volunteers, responding to the growing problems of homeless young people.
YWAF has taken over the baton from SHAL and alongside our work with homeless young people strives to support any positive youth initiatives in the Mendip community.
Over the years we have worked alongside the support team at Grace Harris House and the YMCA We have also provided funding to local clubs.
We all have hopes, dreams and ambitions. But if you are young, homeless and have no parental support, life can seem aimless. The Supported Housing Schemes and other Youth Workers do a wonderful job, but funds are limited. It is difficult for them to provide the little extras that most of us take for granted.
Working For The Community
YWAF is committed to building on the work started by SHAL, by providing support in the community.
We Want to do More.
